Independent Scrap Metal was founded in 1996 in Brisbane, Queensland and opened its doors in 1999 in Lismore, New South Wales. It is a family owned and operated business that trades in non-ferrous and ferrous materials.

As scrap metal merchants, we offer competitive prices on non ferrous items, such as :- Copper, Brass, Aluminium, Lead, Stainless Steel, Electric Motors, PVC Cable etc, while ferrous scrap i.e:- steel, iron, white goods, metallic items etc are accepted for recycling. Independent Scrap Metal Pty Ltd meets the requirements for the Australian Taxation Office “Code of Compliance” within the scrap metal recycling industry. Independent Scrap Metal Pty Ltd also have a wide range of services available to both large and small industry, government and the public. We weigh and pay the same day with our certified, digital scales whether its at our premises or on one of our crane trucks.

For commercial and larger private clients Independent Scrap Metal Pty Ltd provide a free Bin Service for non-ferrous items. Our crane trucks service the Sunshine Coast down to Grafton, and are able to exchange your full bin with our prompt and reliable service generally the next working day from notification.
